Wilfrid Laurier University's Brantford campus celebrates the hard work and dedication of graduating students as they cross the stage and embark on the next chapter of their lives. This will be the first Brantford campus convocation ceremony for the university's newly-appointed chancellor, Nadir Patel. An accomplished former diplomat and corporate director, Patel is himself a Laurier alumnus ('93 BA). The ceremony will also bestow Dr. Jillian Horton with an honorary degree. Horton, an associate professor of Internal Medicine at Manitoba's Health Sciences Centre and the University of Manitoba, had previously won Laurier's prestigious Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-Fiction for her bestselling book, We Are All Perfectly Fine: A Memoir of Love, Medicine and Healing. Please note this is a ticketed event, and tickets can only be claimed by graduating students.
