La saison 2024/2025 de l’Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal se terminera en beauté avec la nouvelle vedette de la clarinette, Virginia Frigault-McDonald qui interprétera des œuvres de Igor Stravinsky (Ebony Concerto), Leonard Bernstein (Prelude, Fugue and Riffs), Morton Gould (Derivations) et une création en première mondiale de Jean-Nicolas Trottier (Virginia suite for clarinet) expressément écrite pour elle.

Virginia s'est déjà produite dans toutes les grandes salles de jazz de Toronto et a récemment effectué une tournée en Europe. Elle est l'une des rares musiciennes de jazz à rester fidèle à la musique de jazz traditionnelle. Sa maîtrise de la technique est superbe, mais ce qui vous captivera, c'est son expression artistique et intelligente dans ses solos.
