Oeuvre multidisciplinaire célébrant l’histoire et la vie du quartier du Vieux-Noranda avant le déménagement de 200 familles et la démolition de 87 bâtiments.
Le 16 mars 2023, les citoyens·es de Rouyn-Noranda apprenaient l’établissement d’une zone tampon au pied de la Fonderie Horne, dans le quartier du Vieux-Noranda. Le projet ‘’Noranda, ville ouverte’’ est né de l’urgence de protéger le patrimoine et l'histoire de ce quartier emblématique. Son histoire, son vécu, les thématiques qu’il permet d’aborder et les souvenirs individuels qu’il a permis de créer sont des symboles forts, propices à la création artistique. Il incarne à lui seul le mythe fondateur de notre ville et a été une source d’inspiration pour de nombreux·euses artistes: Richard Desjardins, Jeanne-Mance Delisle ou Jocelyne Saucier.
La création est incarnée par trois oeuvres, portées par des artistes d’ici :
Résistance, mapping architectural sur l’histoire des mouvements ouvriers et sociaux rouynorandiens avec Dominic Leclerc, Gabrielle Izaguirré-Falardeau et Jean-Lou David;
Shutdown, spectacle de danse contemporaine sur la réalité des travailleurs des mines, coproduit avec We All Fall Down et avec la participation des CopperCrib;
Perdre racine, installation multimédia percutante qui agit comme devoir de mémoire face à ce que la grande histoire ne retiendra pas, coproduit avec le Collectif Tomber Debout (Ariane Ouellet, Valéry Hamelin et Violaine Lafortune).

L'accès aux différentes oeuvres est gratuit, pas de réservation nécessaire.
