There are a limited number of free tickets available.</p> <p>The Cantata Singers of Ottawa exist to perform choral music to the highest standards, to promote choral music in Ottawa, and to support Canadian musical talent by commissioning Canadian composers, engaging Canadian musicians, and by offering scholarships to young Canadian singers.</p> <p>Since 1964, the Cantata Singers have been bringing choral music to our nation’s capital and beyond, with hundreds of concerts and thousands of works from all over the world. The choir’s annual concert series presents innovative programmes of a wide variety of classical and contemporary music.</p> <p><em>Cantata Singers of Ottawa gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the City of Ottawa.</em></p> <h4>Andrew McAnerney - Artistic Director / Directeur artistique</h4> <p>Raised in the British choral tradition, Andrew McAnerney is the Artistic Director of the Cantata Singers of Ottawa (CSO), Director of the men and boys choir at Christ Church Cathedral, Music Director of the Anglican Chorale of Ottawa, and Artistic Director of the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal (SMAM). Since his arrival in Canada in 2012, Andrew has guest conducted a range of choirs and orchestras including National Arts Centre Orchestra, Arion Baroque Orchestra, Chamber Players of Canada, Elora Singers, Elmer Isler Singers, Choeur Louisbourg, and La Rose des Vents.</p> <p>Recent work has included several acclaimed concerts two celebrating the life and works of Heinrich Schutz and Wiliam Byrd. Andrew also achieved a lifelong ambition to present extracts of Einstein on the beach in CSO’s concert – Minimalism. Future plans include a series of recordings of music from the early 16th century and the 50th anniversary of SMAM.</p>

La saison annuelle du chœur offre une programmation novatrice présentant une vaste gamme d'œuvres classiques et contemporaines. </p> <p><em>Les Cantata Singers d’Ottawa remercient la Ville d'Ottawa pour son soutien financier.</em></p> <h5>Andrew McAnerney - Directeur artistique</h5> <p>Formé dans la tradition chorale britannique, Andrew McAnerney est directeur artistique des Cantata Singers of Ottawa (CSO), directeur du chœur d'hommes et de garçons de la cathédrale Christ Church, directeur musical de la Chorale anglicane d'Ottawa et directeur artistique du Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal (SMAM).</p> <p>Depuis son arrivée au Canada en 2012, Andrew a été invité à diriger plusieurs chœurs et orchestres, dont l'Orchestre du Centre national des Arts, l'Arion Orchestre Baroque, Les Chambristes du Canada, les Elora Singers, les Elmer Isler Singers, le Choeur Louisbourg et La Rose des Vents.</p> <p>Parmi ses travaux récents, on peut citer deux concerts acclamés célébrant la vie et l'œuvre de Heinrich Schutz et de William Byrd. Andrew a également réalisé l'ambition de toute une vie en présentant des extraits d'Einstein on the beach dans le concert du CSO - Minimalisme. Ses projets futurs comprennent une série d'enregistrements de musique du début du XVIe siècle et le 50e anniversaire du SMAM.</p>
