C’est impressionnant! Dire que ça va être chez nous dans pas long! » Sous le charme de son amant, et séduite par l’appât du gain, Gigi s’est laissé convaincre par celui-ci de tuer et cambrioler son épouse, la grande Barbara Wells Roth, écrivaine riche et célèbre. Mais quand elle arrive sur le lieu du crime, rien ne se passe comme prévu, et Gigi, qui se voyait déjà hériter de la collection de souliers de sa victime, commet la fatale erreur de se prendre d’amitié pour sa cible. Ensemble, les deux femmes découvrent peu à peu que malgré le révolver qui les sépare, elles sont plus unies qu’elles ne le croient, et qu’elles ignorent bien des choses sur l’homme qui avait promis de les aimer sincèrement, et exclusivement!
