Exposition : Les allumettières – 100 ans après Du 17 juin au 31 octobre 2024 Le centre-ville de Hull a été marqué par la présence des allumettières. En plus d’y travailler et d’y vivre, elles y menaient des luttes ouvrières importantes. Il y a 100 ans, en 1924, les allumettières ont mobilisé la communauté autour d’elles durant le 2e conflit de travail qui les opposait à la compagnie E.B. Eddy. Pour rendre hommage à la résilience et au courage de ces femmes, la Ville présente une exposition extérieure de 23 photos anciennes sur cinq sites du centre-ville qui vous plongera au cœur de cet événement et de la vie industrielle et commerciale hulloise entre 1890 et 1950. 5 sites de l’exposition : 165, rue de l’Hôtel-de-Ville (place Gatineau pour la vie) 80, rue Eddy (placette Coop) 1, promenade du Portage (près des arrêts d’autobus) 15 et 40, rue Jos-Montferrand (place des Contremaîtresses et place Wasà Zibi) Lieux : Centre-ville dans les rues Hôtel-de-Ville, Eddy, Jos-Monferrand et la promenade du Portage Cette activité est présentée par la Ville de Gatineau grâce au soutien financier du gouvernement du Québec.
