At the forefront of European dance, Sofia Nappi displays her talent in an initiation rite with an irresistible groove, inspired by the famous puppet that has enchanted our childhood. With her captivating, hyperdynamic movement language, blending the Gaga technique of Ohad Naharin with the exuberance of Hofesh Shechter, Italian choreographer Sofia Nappi is charming european audiences. In Italian, the word “pupo” means both “child” and “puppet.” Inspired by Pinocchio, Carlo Collodi’s iconic wooden character, Nappi explores transformation and the passage to adulthood. How does an innocent child free themselves from outside influences? How do they discover their own identity? The seven members of Komoco dazzle with their technical mastery and virtuosity, set to a bewitching soundtrack ranging from folkloric rhythms to Chopin and enhanced by evocative images and chiaroscuro lighting. Pupo is a plea to never forget our inner child, nor the irrepressible desire to dance.

À l’avant-scène de la danse européenne, la chorégraphe Sofia Nappi déploie son talent dans un récit initiatique au groove irrésistible, inspiré du célèbre pantin qui a bercé notre enfance. Avec son langage gestuel captivant et hyperdynamique, fusionnant la technique Gaga d’Ohad Naharin et l’exubérance d’Hofesh Shechter, la chorégraphe italienne Sofia Nappi enchante l’Europe. En italien, le mot « pupo » signifie à la fois « enfant » et « marionnette ». S’inspirant de Pinocchio, personnage emblématique en bois de Carlo Collodi, Nappi explore la transformation et le passage à l’âge adulte. Comment l’enfant naïf s’émancipe-t-il des influences extérieures ? Comment découvre-t-il sa propre identité ? Les sept membres de Komoco éblouissent par leur maîtrise technique et leur virtuosité, sur une bande-son envoûtante, allant de rythmes folkloriques à Chopin, rehaussée d’images évocatrices et d’éclairages tout en clair-obscur. Pupo invite à ne jamais oublier l’enfant en nous, ni le désir irrépressible de danser.
