Le Projet intergénérationnel, réalisé en 2023 avec les résidents de la résidence La Liberté et les élèves de 3e secondaire de concentration arts plastiques de l’école secondaire Chavigny, vise à promouvoir l’éducation et la sensibilisation aux arts, ainsi qu’à créer des liens entre les générations. Pour s’y faire, l’artiste Alejandra Basanes a coordonné le projet à travers sa démarche artistique en arts visuels. Le projet représente une initiative originale et pertinente dans l’enseignement-apprentissage de la nature et de l’écologie. Préserver la biodiversité et sensibiliser les jeunes face à l’importance de l’écologie sont devenus des enjeux essentiels de l’éducation actuelle. Il n’a jamais été aussi important de faire découvrir et de faire aimer la nature dans toute sa diversité, de montrer que chaque insecte ou plante a un rôle primordial à jouer. La technique de la sérigraphie a été utilisée afin de réaliser l’œuvre commune qui est une courtepointe sur des morceaux de tissus réutilisés. C’est une technique très ancienne et contemporaine en même temps.
