Vancouver-born Tim Hecker is “one of the most pre-eminent and nuanced electronic producers of his generation.” (New York Times) Over two decades, Hecker has been instrumental in shaping the ambient electronic landscape, picking up a Juno award along the way. His discography spans over 10 albums and focuses on the intersections of noise, dissonance, and melody. Hecker’s 2025 album, Shards, collects music originally composed for film and TV soundtracks, including the BBC series The North Water, the Brandon Cronenberg film, Infinity Pool, starring Alexander Skarsgård and Mia Goth, and continues his trajectory of exploring elegiac music that is “haunting and hallucinatory” (Brainwashed). His 2023 collaboration with saxophonist Colin Stetson, No Highs, explored the depths of the genre and was praised as a “burly, physically imposing release peppered with moments of gentle beauty” (Pitchfork). Austrian guitarist, composer, and electronic musician Christian Fennesz is one of the most distinctive voices of electronic music today. Since his first full-length solo release, Hotel Paral.lel (1997), Fennesz has been transforming the sound of his guitar, developing immersive sonic landscapes that are unmistakably his own.  Throughout his extensive discography, he has pursued transcendence—whether through shimmering symphonic textures, subtle pop influences, or by delving into minimalism with composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. His latest album, Mosaic (2024), is praised as a “vast, immersive effort that bases its abstract soundscapes in raw emotions,” containing songs that are “unspeakably beautiful.” (AllMusic) Join us for an unforgettable night with two legends of ambient electronic music.
