Les générations s’affrontent, se tendent la main, puis accélèrent le cours de leur évolution. Elles ont pour moteur les changements, les crises et les révolutions. D’un monde vertical prônant la rigueur, l’autorité et le devoir, nous sommes passés à un monde horizontal axé sur la mobilité, la flexibilité et l’instantanéité, suscitées par la mondialisation et l’innovation technologique. Ce nouveau paradigme rend désormais l’individu responsable de sa réussite. Toutes les générations doivent repenser la complexité sociale pour assurer une meilleure intégration de la diversité des âges et des cultures. Notre responsabilité est de bâtir un milieu de vie où chacun trouve sa place et joue un rôle dans l’édification de la société, celle d’aujourd’hui et de demain. Avec cet essai, l’auteur propose une réflexion autour du constat que, en cette ère d’individualisme exacerbé, des événements d’une extrême gravité, dont une crise sanitaire sans précédent, démontrent à quel point notre interdépendance est une force. Plus que jamais il est nécessaire de partager nos histoires, nos rêves, nos aspirations afin d’établir un dialogue constructif pour le devenir de la planète.
