style="height:30px;" Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and Deputy Mayor for Business and Red Tape Reduction Councillor Kelvin Galbraith are pleased to invite you to the inaugural speakers series event featuring renowned urban planner Jennifer Keesmaat for a discussion on affordable housing and community development. Jennifer is passionate about creating places where people flourish. Named one of the “most powerful people in Canada” by Maclean’s, one of the “most influential” by Toronto Life, and one of the top Women of Influence in Canada, she spent five years as the City of Toronto’s Chief City Planner, where she was celebrated for her forward thinking and collaborative approach to city-building. Burlington’s Speaker Series ‘Innovation to Action’ is a dynamic series aimed at inspiring positive change and practical solutions within our city through innovative approaches and tangible actions. This will be a free, ticketed event at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre in the evening of Monday, May 27. Please reserve your ticket ahead of time! Prior to the event, there will be a housing tradeshow in the lobby of BPAC from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Doors will open for the main theatre at 6:30 pm and the main event will begin at 7:00 pm until approximately 8:30 pm. *Limit of 4 tickets per person.* For more COB events, click here.
