BLACK GOLD…A dynamic high-energy music review featuring an all-star cast performing the solid gold hits of the superstars of Motown, Rhythm & Blues, Rock’n’roll, Disco and Soul. The concept of BLACK GOLD is to illustrate in song the evolution of Motown music in 1963 hits to the mid 80s Pop hits of mega star entertainers. The early Motown songs are upbeat hand-clapping tunes about romance, love, friendship and that’s what our show is all about: joy, hope, uplifting entertainment. The later numbers are love songs and about happier times. The musicality of some of the songs are uncomplicated but have meaningful lyrics. Perhaps that’s why they became classic hits in a golden age of music. The underlying theme of the show is about coming together, loving one another, and helping make the world a better place. This talent-packed show features six highly skilled vocalists and a stalwart band of five musicians performing the golden hits of The Drifters, Martha and the Vandellas, The four Tops, The temptations, Donna Summer, The Supremes, Lionel Ritchie, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and others.
